I was just back from Niagara Falls today. It is one of the most magnificent places I’ve ever been! I is astonished by nature’s supremacy. I believe that anyone who goes there will realize that they should admire the Almighty. Niagara Falls will definitely be at the top of my recommendation list of must-go places to every exchange student coming to the United States.

Today is the last day of October Break which means that I can enjoy another day-off! One of my roommates went to New York City in the break and the other went to Chapel Hill, NC. But a day-off doesn’t mean a party day here.

I am going to have a presentation tomorrow for my communication course. (Actually it’s a pure speech course which we are required to do three presentations in the class and one in the community) I have to spend half day preparing for it. The topic is about China’s one-child policy. Americans are so interested in the topic that I’ve at least been asked for more than ten times about the policy. So I decided to give my class a presentation and try to objectively describe and evaluate the policy. (I can also use myself as an example~)

Attached is a photo of my apartment. It’s nice, right?

My presentation today was quite good, I think. Anyway, I tried my best and got all of my classmates involved. I received a birthday card from the University today! At first I thought it was to congratulate my 21st birthday (which means I am a “legal” person here, i.e. to drink or to go to pubs). But after I read the card, I realized it was not like that at all! Hah, here is what it says: If you choose to drink… Celebrate with friends you trust. Ensure that you have a sober driver Be smart, 21 shots is a bad idea…(and more) Wow, what a kind reminder!

Heavy rain last night. When I got up today, I was surprised at what I saw. Just look at the picture, what sharp contrast!

The environment is really beautiful right?

Finally it comes to my birthday!!! I got so many congratulations today (21st is the most important birthday here).

My host family, the Truebloods who have 11 kids (Oh my GOSH!) invited me to their home to celebrate. We went to a high school football game first and had a really BIG dinner. Ms. Trueblood is a good cook, and she baked a birthday cake for me! This was the best night I have had in the United States.

The Truebloods are so nice and they invited me to many fun events, like deer hunting (WOW!), hiking, Christmas dinner… They will be the most important part of my memory in the States!
